Managing Director

David joined NWdesign in 1996 following seven years at University in Liverpool and Nottingham. The Interior Architecture degree that he gained at Nottingham has allowed David to indulge himself in his passion for detail. Working closely with the team here at NWdesign he has amassed an extensive knowledge of the existing built form. Many of his schemes involve the adaptation of existing structures and interior spaces. He has an extensive knowledge of retail design, mainly fashion retailing and over the last 14 years has created many uplifting interiors. He has worked all over the UK and Europe with some of the leading female fashion retail labels helping to create new concepts. Latterly he has turned his attention to the refurbishment of Grade one and two listed buildings in Cheshire and Herefordshire and new-build projects all over the Northwest of England and North Wales.

Managing Director

Following 5 years studying at Wirral & Liverpool Central College, Harvey qualified as a Chartered Interior Designer and is now a Member of the Chartered Society of Designers. Harvey has worked in the Architecture & Design business since 1984 and has worked extensively in both the retail and residential sectors around the United Kingdom. Prior to joining NWdesign in September 1995 Harvey worked with the Ladbroke Racing Group for as Regional Design Manager and was involved primarily in the development of licensed betting shops as you see them today more open and more customer friendly. Most recently Harvey has been heavily involved with the expansion programme for Pets at Home Ltd and Companion Care Veterinary Surgeries around the United Kingdom. Pets at Home now have some 287 Stores and Companion Care 74 Surgeries with more planned over the coming years.
 
  Martin Rocke   Martin Rocke
Director

Martin started the practice in 1971, after spending 11 years in Civil Engineering. In the subsequent 37 years he grew the practice to where it is today, and in December 2007 went into semi-retirement. His 48 years’ experience has its advantages however, and he remains with NWdesign on a part time basis, to assist in what he likes best - the concept stage of projects, and solving demanding constructional problems.

Company Secretary

Annie has worked for NWdesign since 1989. Her role as company secretary includes the day to day running of the accounts through to producing monthly management accounts. Annie is also involved in certain aspects of company administration.

Associate

Graham is a registered architect with over twenty five years experience gained working for a variety of architectural practices. For ten years he worked as an associate and latterly a director of a small architectural practice in Cheshire on a wide variety of planning and design schemes. In 2009 he joined NWdesign as an associate. He has a thorough knowledge of building construction and computer aided design techniques and is involved as an external reviewer for the School of the Built Environment at Liverpool JMU. Graham's architectural schemes have ranged in size from broad planning proposals for urban redevelopment to detailed designs for individual houses. He has a particular expertise in the preparation of perspectives, presentation drawings and graphic work.

Senior Architectural Technician

Suzanne had over 4 years experience in the industry prior to joining Nwdesign in 1989; she became an Associate in 1997. Suzanne has an Honours Degree in Architecture and an HNC in Building Studies. Her main role is to produce detailed construction drawings for domestic, residential, industrial and commercial projects, and has experience detailing new build, refurbishments and extensions, Listed Buildings and buildings in Conservation Areas. Alongside her drawing work, Suzanne produces detailed Specifications and Schedules of Work for tender purposes.

Architectural Technician

Kevin has many years experience as an Architectural Technician, gained from working on a variety of projects ranging from small residential projects to £3m multi-use schemes. In March 2012, Kevin joined NWdesign to work specifically with major UK retailer Pets at Home and their sister company, veterinary practice Companion Care. Kevin’s role involves producing existing and proposed CAD working drawing packages for new stores and veterinary practices, and refurbishments of existing stores. Kevin works closely with Pets at Home project managers and store planners, and liaises directly with Local Authorities. Kevin has a Higher National Diploma in Building Studies, has sound knowledge of 2D and 3D drawing/modelling programmes and of current UK Building Regulations. Kevin is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists and is currently working towards chartered status.

Architectural Technician

Matthew is an experienced Architectural Technician. He has worked for the practice for 14 years on a variety of projects within different sectors, and with National and Higher National Certificates in Building, Construction and the Built Environment; he has gained a broad technical knowledge and understanding of the industry. Matthew undertakes measured building and land surveys, produces existing and proposed CAD drawings and technical details, liaises with Local Authorities and other external professionals and is an essential member of the project team. Matthew is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists and is also currently working towards chartered status.

Consultant Architect

Zareen studied Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art and attained an Honours Degree in Architecture before gaining a Postgraduate degree specialising in Computer Aided Design from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. He has over 11 years of experience as a fully qualified Architect and has worked in Sheffield, Glasgow, London, Manchester and Perugia in Italy. He has experience of working with a variety of architectural practices, large and small. As a result he has had a wide ranging and extensive project experience, ranging from bespoke retail and leisure through to public sector healthcare and education. He is the principal at Zendium Design, set up in 2001, where he took on a diverse range of workload from bespoke domestic through to healthcare and education projects. He was seconded to other large architectural practices where he was seconded to assist in composing public sector OJEU and public sector fee bids. He works comfortably at work at all stages from concept stage through to detail design and final completion and hand over. He excels at client liaison and presentation work, however he is also adept at getting involved at all stages of work to assist colleagues with workload. Zareen has invigilated and tutored architectural students for the RIBA professional Part II and part III examinations and enabled them to attain their Part III accreditation. He is able to work to tight deadlines and many of clients enjoy this approach because he can deliver professionally and manage their projects. He has managed large professional design teams on multi-million pound projects, both internal and external, and regularly produces detailed reports for clients and stakeholders. Zareen has been working closely to forge links with NWDA over the last 6 months and assisting David Tilley and the team with his educational expertise and associated fee bids. The collaboration between the two practices delivers the following for clients; experienced educational input together with proven added value through perceptive and considerate design. Integrity & transparency are the cornerstones of my work ethos.

Consultant Architect

Edward has been a consltant to NWdesign since 2008. He is a chartered Architect with some 38 years experience since his honours degree in 1970. RIBA qualified since 1971, he has worked in the industry as company Architect to a national food chain, a major retirement operation and in private practices up to director level.
